Wake on LAN (WOL)

Beyond Remote has the ability to send a Wake on LAN request to a remote computer, which, if configured properly, will remotely turn on a computer.  To configure WOL for your computer, you must have a WOL compatible Network Card on the Host computer, and must have UDP traffic on Port 5424 forwarded to the Host.  This is the only function Beyond Remote uses UDP for at this time.

To send a WOL request, go to the Connection Manager and right click on an existing connection and select "Send Wake on LAN request".  You can also select your connection and then click the WOL button under the "Commands" section of the Connection Manager.

*Note - In order to send a WOL request, Beyond Remote must have the MAC address recorded for that computer.  At this time, the only way to do this is to actually connect to that computer once so Beyond Remote can record the MAC address.  If a MAC address has not been associated with that connection, the WOL button/option will not be available.
