This article describes how to configure Windows XP's Firewall with Service Pack 2 installed.

To allow someone to connect to the computer your on with the Beyond Remote client, follow these steps.

1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.

2. In the control panel, click Security Center, and then click Windows Firewall.

3. On the Exceptions tab, under Programs and Services click the Add Port button.

4. In the Add a Port screen, enter Beyond Remote Server in the name field and enter port 5424 in the port number field. Also, make sure that the TCP option is selected, click OK to save.

5. In the event you have multiple network connections installed and want to control security individually, place a checkmark next to the network connection and click Settings. Note: the Settings button is specific to the network connection you have hightlighted and the changes you make in that screen only apply to the selected connection regardless if it's checked or not.
